Bruce Mottern moved to Charlotte from Knoxville, TN in 2001. He received his Undergraduate Degree from Queen’s University of Charlotte with a major in Business and Pre-Law. After college Bruce played professional soccer for the Charlotte Eagles for two seasons before he was accepted into Winthrop University’s Graduate Program. He is currently working on his M.B.A and is also an Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach for the Winthrop University’s Men’s Soccer Program.

Bruce is passionate about his volunteerism, particularly in the Sub-Saharan regions of Africa. He has traveled to Uganda during a month-long peace treaty, performing soccer clinics and bringing aid to war victims and IDP Camps. During this time he also traveled to the slums of Kenya running soccer clinics and providing relief to AIDS victims.
Bruce is also the founder of “Queen’s for Kenya” which seeks to provide donated sporting good items to the severely impoverished slums of Kenya.

Bruce’s vast experience with non-profit organizations and volunteer work make him a fundamental asset to the KFF. His unrelenting drive and passion for making others lives better have enabled him to take a leadership role in search efforts, fund raising, and event planning.
